Scope of Work
Based on the Situation Assessment, the Scope of Work (SoW) can be figured out. Preparation of the Scope of Work (SoW) involves the consideration of the identified issues, the needs that can possibly be addressed, the limitations posed by various factors (including organizational/program policies), the capacity to address the issues and the desired impact or the goal of the program. These should leave us with a limited but focused Scope of Work.
The following things are to be kept in mind while determining the Scope of Work.
1. A need may exist, but the organization may not be working in that sector.
2. An issue may be too large for the organization to handle, due to resorce limitations
3. Organization may feel the need to address an issue but it may be the sole duty and authority of the
administration/government to work on it (e.g. power supply in many mations)
4. The time span of the project may be too short for some of the issues to be appropriately addressed
5. Certain social issues may have to be addressed before working on the targetted issue
